SA.41471(2015/X) Purpose_public_aid: Article 25 of Regulation (EC) No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty (OJ Urz. EU L 187/1 of 26.06.2014).The aim of the project is to develop and implement a new type of special fiber optic with normal dispersion over a wide spectral range, covering the 1500-2000 nm band, maintaining the polarity of light, designed for applications in ultra-fast lasers and fiber optic amplifiers. The project will be implemented in a scientific and industrial consortium composed of: FIBRAIN sp. z o.o. (leader), Wrocław University of Technology (PWr) and Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin (UMCS). The final result of the project will be the FIBRAIN optical fibre, which maintains the polarity of light, with a negative dispersion coefficient in the spectral range of at least 1500-2000 nm, i.e. covering the range of lasers and amplifiers doped with erb and tule ions. Fiber optic of this type will be used in laser systems and erb amplifiers and tuls generating ultrashort pulses (femtoseconds). Due to the identified large market for potential customers, very limited competition (practical lack of such solutions), this product can fill the existing market gap. The preliminary tests carried out confirmed not only the possibility of producing fiber with expected parameters (on a laboratory scale), but also the possibility of using it in both laser systems and fibre-optic amplifiers, allowing for unique output parameters (e.g. record short pulse duration). The R & D work under this project includes: 1) designing the optimal fiber structure, 2) developing fiber extraction technology, 3) verification of the usability of the manufactured fiber (...)
