Circular climate-smart flows

The construction and real estate sector in Dalarna wants to take the step into the fourth revolutionary industrialisation process. This is the process that is considered to be based on the circular economy and climate neutrality. Through the Builtialog Dalarna, it is hereby applied for funds to together with construction and real estate companies, increase digitisation, streamlining and smart specialisation. Methods for the work have been developed through previous collaborations between the companies, are now being implemented in a larger implementation that affects the entire industry in Dalarna. In 2030, society is believed to have developed towards an increasingly circular economy. Waste as a concept disappears, the material resources are weighed into the economic system. A mature market for circular products, services and business models is being developed in response to society’s increasingly circular character. In the production of buildings, more and more climate-smart, reusable building products and recycled materials are used that are made possible by increased access. Overall project objectives: Drive the transition to an energy efficient and carbon-efficient economy among the construction and real estate companies in Dalarna. Project objectives: Show the links between circular flows and energy efficiency and to initiate a circular economy in the construction and real estate industry in Dalarna. The project’s milestones: 1) Promoting energy efficiency especially in the areas of renovation, operation and management, with a particular focus on gender equality and diversity. 2) Build knowledge and expertise in circular processes, including gender equality and diversity, as well as testing real-world projects in the construction and real estate industry in Dalarna. 3) Establish collaboration between research and innovation as well as the application of carbon dioxide technology, in circular processes and business model for the construction and real estate companies in Dalarna. Target group(s) The main objective of the project is to reach the SMEs of the industry. Municipalities, region, municipality-owned companies, private property owners, managers, contractors, consultants, suppliers, academies. Expected results at project conclusions – Increased knowledge and expertise in the circular economy and the links between energy efficiency and climate impact in the selection of materials – That carbon dioxide emissions have been significantly reduced – That the use of reuse materials in new production and renovation increases – The fact that companies, both private and public-owned, establish their own roadmaps for climate change – Creating test, pilot and demo projects – To prepare the organisation for the EU’s future focus and programme by: — Gaining knowledge and skills – Develop support systems for smart specialisation and innovation models Expected long-term effects – That several companies and organisations in the region are at the forefront in areas of climate neutrality and the circular economy – That the industry develops a diversification of the sector structure, that new markets have been built up and qualified services have been developed – That new companies focusing on circular economy and climate neutrality have been started – to build concrete models for smart specialisation and innovations that have been established and tested.
