The project will develop a business model that supports and adapts long-term to SMEs’ needs and development of market knowledge for internationalisation. Collaboration will take place between the project group, promoters and SMEs to develop forms of business model. The approach to be applied has previously been applied and further developed in the Sustainable Business Relations project for innovative regional business development (Harira). What is new in the project is that students at the University of Gävle (HIG) have an active role in SMF’s work on the business model by conducting studies aimed at SMEs’ development needs. Social sustainability is part of the activities where gender equality and diversity are discussed related to internal and international needs. Environmental sustainability is directed primarily at companies’ operations and how these potentials are utilised in internationalisation. Economic sustainability is part of, for example, how cultural differences can affect business economically during internationalisation.
