Sustainable food industry

The goal of the project is to prepare for the establishment and development of an industrial food centre for more jobs. This increases growth, promotes entrepreneurship and business development and strengthens the region’s position as a centre for the food industry of the future. The activities strengthen the region’s position to achieve the long-term goal of developing into a national centre for the sustainable food industry. The project will contribute to reaching the national food strategy’s ambitions for a competitive food chain by 2030. Sustainable food production and Foodtech are about changing the production, distribution and consumption of food through innovation, data and digital technology. This could be developing new technologies for food production on new value chains and innovations such as digital tracking of products, smart packaging or sustainable transport. Sustainable food production/foodtech is a potential area of strength according to the regional development strategy. By investing in the area, employment opportunities will be created, growth will increase and R & D will be enabled.
