The sustainable industrial environments of the future

The reason for the project The Sustainable Industrial Environments of the Future is that there is a great need to develop sustainable, CO2-neutral industrial environments that contribute to increased attractiveness for the site, strengthened competitiveness for companies in the region and reduced climate impact. The project is a collaborative project between Umeå Energi and Rice. It has been initiated by Umeå Energi and Komatsu Forest and is run by a partnership in which the industry in the region participates, ABB, Volvo, Ålö, SMF/subcontractors, Umeå University, Forest Technology Cluster, Västerbotten Chamber of Commerce, ESAM and others. The main goal of the project is to strengthen innovation capacity and contribute with expertise on reduced CO2 load at SMF/subcontractors by developing collaboration platform with innovation process with a positive CO2 grant that generates sustainable products and services and where results and lessons learned are communicated regionally, nationally and internationally. The project goal is to be achieved through a number of sub-goals and related activities. These are developed with the help of Logical Framework Approach (LFA) – Organised a lasting collaboration platform (main activity Develop collaboration platform with four sub-activities) – Developed an open test and innovation environment with a positive CO2 grant (main activity Implement investigations and analyses with two sub-activities) – Developed an open test and innovation environment with a learning environment with a positive CO2 grant (main activity) Develop the open test and innovation environment with three sub-activities – Prepared activity activities with a positive CO2 grant (main activity Develop open test and innovation environment with three sub-activities) – Preparatory activities focus on one main part of the development (learning)
