The overall goal of the project is to strengthen companies’ competitiveness through research and development, and thus contribute to regional growth. The project invokes the exemption for state aid in industrial research. Participating companies will strengthen their existing research and development work, develop new products or improve current products/services and establish a structure for regional R & D collaboration. The project is derived from a need of nutritional knowledge and will also be run by the business community themselves. When the project period is over, companies are expected to have increased innovation height, competitiveness and research competence. New jobs and new products are also expected to be a result of the project. In the long term, companies are expected to establish a research cluster that stimulates R & D in the region’s companies.
