Expansion of localised fibre networks in Värmland County in Filipstad, Storfors and Kristinehamn. The goal is that at least 57 companies have access to broadband with at least 100Mbit/s. The local access networks connect to this local network and give all residents in the area access to at least 100Mbit/s. The expected economic results for a year will remain valid for many years to come. In addition, access to broadband is an absolute prerequisite for also getting new companies to establish themselves and existing companies to move into the region. There are probably few projects that reimburse themselves so well economically in the long term, as just expansion of broadband in enterprising rural areas. Globalisation is increasingly linked as the IT revolution makes the world more accessible. To be able to take part in and participate in the development of the outside world and to interact in it requires adequate communications. In rural areas this is especially important as the availability and cost of other communications are relatively higher than in urban areas with close access to more physical networking and travel. Sweden also has a high international ambition at the level of government services that are increasingly expected to be used online. Today, it is mostly information services and things that were previously handled by telephone and mail, but the range of services is increasingly broadening. As the copper network is phased out, security alarms are moved to broadband and future development indicates that, for example, health centres move some of their services to the network with increased self-help and information. Telemedicine with video link as support for healthcare professionals in the field will also be of importance especially in rural areas. As the more IT accustomed generations grow older, the importance of good broadband in rural areas will increase. Good broadband is itself part of the right to a functioning infrastructure and part of smoothing out the conditions between sparsely populated and urban areas. This also leads to a better variety of culture and also (distance) education. Equal opportunities for information are an important aspect when it comes to public information. Furthermore, good broadband provides opportunities to participate socially in different communities or communities via the Internet, which leads to increased equality for people who belong to some form of minority regardless of whether it is ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, linguistic/cultural affiliation but also when it comes to disability or illness. In rural and rural counties as Värmland there are strong links between functioning broadband connection and an equal development. A weak broadband network is a structural barrier to the development of a global and more gender-equal business sector. An important and growing industry in Värmland is the tourism industry, which is strongly international with high broadband dependence for contact with its customers. The proportion of female entrepreneurs and employees is high. Today, nearly half of the new companies in Värmland are started by women, mainly in trade, local food production, services and services. Industries with a particularly explicit dependence on well-functioning broadband in sparsely populated areas. Employment in the district is the basis for the maintenance of public services in the area, and entrepreneurship should therefore be prioritised. With access to world-class broadband, opportunities to compete in an increasingly global market are created. The initiatives within the project are clearly linked to initiatives within the Rural Development Programme, both in planning and implementation. Within the Regional Fund, support is provided for more comprehensive local networks, while investments in the Rural Development Programme focus on broadband networks close to the end user. The investments are mutually dependent on each other as the more local networks depend on the cohesion of the larger networks, have a good capacity and are reliable. The project will co-operate with the expansion of the access networks in these areas. The project owner will also build these access networks
