Gathering in Sege Park

The project is based on a previous feasibility study where the initiative was anchored internally within the city of Malmö and among external actors. The project is a pilot initiative in Sege Park, Malmö with the goal that goods and waste transports are 100 % fossil-free in the area at the end of the project period. In the project, a microterminal will be deployed; vehicles, electric cars and cargo bikes will be rented or purchased to take care of transport between microterminal and final destination. In order to remove heavy vehicles in the area, traffic control must be carried out, which means that signs and markings will change and local traffic regulations are updated. Surveys and seminars will be conducted to investigate perceived traffic safety and local environment in the area. A business model will be developed so that the results can be scaled up to other districts and other cities. The regional business sector is involved by logistics companies participating and providing knowledge support, the Gods Network in Malmö will participate in the project’s activities. The expected result at the end of the project is that there is a model for the distribution of goods in a state that has 100 % fossil-free transport and that this model can be applied in other districts in the city of Malmö and also in other cities. Other expected results are traffic safety perceived as safer, that heavy vehicles do not exist at preschools and schools.
