MODERN FLEET OF TRAINS, EQUIPPED FOR THE USE OF MODERN SIGNALLING SYSTEMS AND PASSING THROUGH APPROPRIATELY EQUIPPED TRACKS, CAN REMOTELY COMMUNICATE THEIR POSITION IN REAL TIME AND VERY ACCURATELY. TRAINS NOT EQUIPPED WITH MODERN TECHNOLOGY AND WHICH PASS THROUGH LESS MODERN NETWORKS DO NOT HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE KNOWN THEIR POSITION IN TIME REALE.FOR THESE TRAINS, AND FOR THESE NETWORKS, WHICH ARE THE VAST MAJORITY OF RAIL TRAFFIC IN THE WORLD, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO ACHIEVE A MODERN MANAGEMENT OF THE FLEET THAT WILL BE CARRIED OUT. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO KNOW WITH SUFFICIENT PRECISION THE POSITION OF A TRAIN ON A NETWORK. THE IVM HAS DEVELOPED A TECHNOLOGY, USED IN ITS OWN PRODUCT, WHICH COULD BE USED TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
