THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT IS TO DEVELOP A NODE COMPUTING AREA, AIMED AT DEVELOPING A RELIABLE AND CERTIFIABLE IT PLATFORM SAFETY CRITICAL PLATFORM, WHICH IS SUITABLE FOR USE AS A CONTROL NODE AND/OR AS A FLY-BY-WIRE SYSTEM. IN PARTICULAR, WE WILL LOOK AT A NEW METHODOLOGY THAT CAN BE USED TO INCREASE THE SAFETY OF THE AVIONICS INSPECTION SYSTEMS DEVELOPED BY ITALYSTEMT IN OTHER PROJECTS. THE IDENTIFIED ARCHITECTURE OF THE IMA TYPE ARCHITECTURE INCLUDES THE CONCEPT OF ‘OPEN SYSTEM’ WHERE SEVERAL SUPPLIERS CAN PROVIDE DIFFERENT MODULES, STANDARDISED IN TERMS OF HARDWARE AND/OR SOFTWARE, INTERFACES, AND NEED TO BE INTEGRATED FOR THE DEPLOYMENT OF MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS ON A COMMON IMA PLATFORM, CLEAR BENEFITS IN TERMS OF INTEGRATION, MAINSTREAMING AND COVERAGE OF THE ARCHITECTURE.
