THE PROJECT PROMOTES THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN TESTING AND VALIDATION PLATFORM FOR TRANSPORT SYSTEMS CHARACTERISED BY THE PROGRESSIVE DEPLOYMENT OF BOTH CONNECTED VEHICLES AND INCREASING LEVELS OF AUTOMATION (CONNECTED AND AUTOMATED VEHICLES — CAV) AND C-ITS SERVICES IMPLEMENTED ON SMART ROADS. THE PROJECT IS BASED ON A CONSISTENT MODELLING FRAMEWORK GEARED TO THE VALIDATION OF CAV SOLUTIONS AND TO THE SIMULATION OF TRAFFIC AND MOBILITS THAT, THROUGH THE APPLICATION AND TESTING TOOLS CARRIED OUT BY THE PROJECT, IT ENABLES THE PROVISION OF ENGINEERING SERVICES WITH A HIGH ADDED TECHNOLOGICAL VALUE. THE INNOVATION CHALLENGE ADDRESSED INCLUDES INTEGRATION BETWEEN THE WORLD OF TRAFFIC PATTERNS AND THE EXISTING MEANS OF VALIDATION OF THE VEHICULAR PLATFORMS. THE PROJECT WILL DEVELOP IMPORTANT MODELS IN ITS DEVELOPMENT, EXPERIMENTAL TESTS AND LABORATORY SIMULATIONS. THE PRODUCT IS A TECHNOLOGICAL PLATFORM FOR MULTI-CHANNEL CONNECTION.
