CHEMICAL MARKERS OF MILK ASSOCIATED WITH THE PRESENCE OF SILAGE IN THE BOVINE DIET

THE DAIRY SECTOR, WHICH IS AN ECONOMIC MOTOR WITHIN THE DIRECTION OF MOUNTAIN FARMING OF THIS ZONE, ENSURES THAT THERE IS REGULAR INCOME FOR ALMOST 5000 HOUSEHOLDS. THE MAINTENANCE AND RECOVERY OF TRADITIONAL TECHNIQUES ARE STRATEGIC FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE TERRITORY AND FOR THE PROMOTION OF EXTENSIVE AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FARMING. IN THIS CONTEXT, IT IS PRECISELY IN THIS CONTEXT THAT THE PROJECT IS: IN THE INNOVATIVE SUPPLY CHAIN OF LATTE-FIENO FOR THE PRODUCTION OF WHICH IT IS PROHIBITED TO MANUFACTURE THE USE OF SILAGE IN THE DIET OF THE BOVINE SPECIES. AT PRESENT, THERE ARE NO ANALYTICAL METHODS TO DETECT IN THE MILK THE UPTAKE OF GRASS SILAGE AND MAIZE SILAGE IN THE RATION OF THE COWS. Â BECOMES A RESEARCH PROJECT AIMED AT DEVELOPING A RELIABLE METHOD BASED ON GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY-MASS SPECTROMETRY (GC-MS) FOR THE DISTINCTION BETWEEN STANDARD MILK AND LATTE-FIENO, TO ENSURE THE PRODUCT’S GENUINITY. THIS CAN BE ACHIEVED BY DETECTING CYCLOPROPANE FATTY ACIDS (CPFA) IN MILK, WHICH ARE IDENTIFIED STATES
