The subject of this project is the reconstruction and fortification of 5 canals (Giżycki, Grunwaldzki, Mioduński, Szymoński and Tałcki) on the trail from Mikołajek to Giżycko. The main stakeholder groups that are key to the implementation of the project are: tourists, residents of the area or local governments, entrepreneurs associated with the tourism industry and services responsible for safety on the route. How the project is implemented: The project is implemented in partnership, where both the Applicant and Leader Partner are the Great Mazurskie Lakes Association 2020 and the Partner – State Water Farm Polish Regional Water Management Board in Warsaw. Partnership between these entities is governed by the partnership agreement. A team for efficient and substantively correct implementation of the project was established. Implementation of the project. The project will be implemented by people with experience in the implementation of projects co-financed by external funds. The most important stages of the project are: preparatory work, preparation of technical documentation, obtaining decisions for the implementation of the task, preparation of feasibility studies, construction works, supervision in the project and its promotion. The project fits into the assumptions set out in the SZOOP/Regulation and the assumptions of the project are eligible for support under Sub-measure 6.2.2 Waterways and waterfronts of the RPOW. The project falls within a catalogue of possible types of project, as well as the justification, description and objectives of the project set out in the project are consistent with the objectives of the action set out in the SZOOP.
