E-Museum – digitisation and making resources available to the Museum of Coal Mining in Zabrze

The subject of the project is the digitisation of the collections of the Museum of Coal Mining through the creation of a digitisation workshop with subsystems supporting the management and inventory of digitised collections (E-Museum). Within this framework, 16659 scans will be carried out in various technologies (3059 exhibits) to make them available online. In addition, a database with information on museum resources will be disseminated in digital form, acting as a “knowledge base” for interested persons or the scientific zone (with the possibility of borrowing exhibits, queries, painting gallery). The project also responds to the need to document liquidated mining plants – industrial heritage of Silesia. As part of the project, the machine and equipment will be digitised and shown online in 3D with its surroundings (buildings, excavations). This will have a positive impact on the increase in the number of recipients of the offer, the availability of e-services and the spread of cultural and scientific goods.
