The object of the project is the construction of the facility for the needs of the MCN. It will be a modern and innovative institution that complements and develops the educational and cultural offer of the region.Using the high potential of the science sector in Małopolska, an educational institution is to be established, conducting cognitive, development and pro-innovative activities in a systemic way, linked to the popularisation among the public, especially those areas of science, which are part of the regional areas of intelligent specialisation. The MCN is to distinguish itself from other institutions, e.g. researchers, schools, museums, and as an interdisciplinary entity. Activities with a wide range of impacts will be carried out in the only place. The planned investment includes the construction of the MCN facility together with the necessary accompanying infrastructure, i.e. land development, including recreational space and parking spaces. The investment area is located on plots with registration number 16/12, 16/7, 21/258 and parts of plots no 21/210, 21/211 with a total area of approx. 3,8631 ha rpm 6 Kraków – Nowa Huta. The area is located within the protection zone of indirect water intake “Mistrzejowice” (according to Regulation No. 7/2013 of the Regional Director of the Management Board of Water Management in Krakow of 24 June 2013 on the establishment of a protection zone for capturing underground water located in Krakow and Regulation No 8/2014 of the Regional Director of the Water Management Board in Krakow of 31 January 2014 on the amendment of the regulation establishing the protection zone of the underground water catchment). The area designated for the construction of the MCN is adjacent to areas significantly diverse in functional terms and constructions of very diverse architectural forms and dimensions, which can serve as a spatial justification for allowing many different architectural and urban solutions.
