The aim of the project is to develop a system of measurement of distributed climatic and soil parameters consisting of utility software and devices for remote measurement of temperature and humidity in agricultural areas, for example in orchards, strawberries, etc. This system will be used in early frost warning and forecasting favourable conditions for plant spraying and, above all, irrigation control. The use of such a system will allow gardeners and fruit growers to increase yields by optimising irrigation and at the same time reducing water consumption, which will bring both financial benefits (savings) and environmental benefits (more about Poland’s water balance and water scarcity we write in the business plan). The applicant has experience in designing and constructing telemetry and telematics devices but does not have sufficient knowledge of agriculture, fruit and irrigation, which is why the Institute of Horticulture in Skierniewice (as a subcontractor) will participate in the implementation of this project. The project will carry out 2 phases of industrial research and two phases of development research – including testing prototypes under real conditions. Inventia will implement the above-mentioned project in a user-oriented way, so both in research and in particular, not during the development phase, we will cooperate with horticulture farms (included letters of intent) so that our final product meets the requirements of the recipients as much as possible. The planned system is unique on a global scale and its low cost (especially in comparison with substitutes), high scalability and innovation will ensure its success in the market and respond to end-users’ expectations.
