Construction of a low-carbon transport system in the Culm Functional Area

The main objective of the project is to: reducing the negative environmental impact of collective transport in the Chełm Functional Area. The main objective will be attainable by achieving the specific objectives, i.e.: reduce CO2 emissions of road vehicles, create an efficient system of sustainable mobility, develop the necessary infrastructure for the urban and municipal bicycle system, create a new transport system, increase road safety, increase the safety of public transport users, build bicycle paths, pedestrians and bicycles in the Chelm Functional Area. The project shall include activities: development of technical documentation (common cycle path), study and conceptual work (including: development of a joint feasibility study, updating investor estimates, preparation of environmental documentation, purchase of rolling stock (3 pieces), urban and municipal bicycle system (17 stations, 170 bicycles, spare elements), reconstruction of parking lots (road infrastructure elements), interchange no., construction of a bicycle path, pedestrian and foot-bike line along the Voivodeship road No. 844 of Chełm-Hrubieszów relations, construction of bicycle paths, project promotion. Modernising infrastructure, transport and communication will increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of the region. The project will also contribute to improving the living conditions of residents by reducing gas emissions. The key result of this project will be: estimated annual decrease in greenhouse gas emissions (CI34) 0.18 tonnes of CO2 equivalent.
