The direct objective of the project is to improve the quality and availability of medical services by improving the technical and medical infrastructure while protecting the health and health safety of the society, and in particular to reduce the mortality rate of the community in the Łódź region due to malignancies. The indirect objective of the project is to implement a system of comprehensive activities related to prevention, diagnosis and oncological treatment aimed at reducing the rate of morbidity and mortality due to malignancies in the Lodz region. This objective will be achieved, inter alia, by concentrating activities in the field of oncological prevention, oncological surgery, clinical oncology, radiotherapy, oncological rehabilitation, oncological psychology, and the implementation of comprehensive and coordinated medical care. The scope and size of the planned activities were designed based on the previous analysis of the activities of the Hospital, epidemiological data in confrontation with a detailed analysis of the current state of the technical infrastructure. The inventive part of the project consists, among others, of construction works with the character of expansion, reconstruction and purchase of medical equipment and equipment. The non-investment part consists of the implementation of a system of oncological prevention activities aimed at reducing the rate of morbidity and mortality due to cancer in the Łódź region. The project will carry out a number of actions aimed at educating and consolidating the habits of active prevention among society and encouraging citizens to take advantage of preventive programmes. The aim of the initiative is to increase the importance and role of prevention in society through health-promoting, educational and preventive research in line with the provisions and recommendations of the European Code against Cancer.
