“BUILDING OF THE ŁÓDŹ AGGLOMERATION RAILWAY STAGE II”

The aim of the project “Construction of the Łódź Agglomeration Railway Stage II” is to improve the transport accessibility of the Łódź Voivodeship by extending the transport activities of the Łódź Agglomeration Railway sp. o.o. in the area of the railway sections: Gałkówek/Koluszki-Tomaszów Mazowiecki-Opoczno, Gałkówek/Koluszki-Piotrków Trybunalski-Radomsko, Skierniewice-Łowicz-Kutno and improvement of ŁKA’s transport offer in relations from Łódź to Skierniewice, Sieradz, Kutno and Łowicz. The target group is: residents of the Łódź Voivodeship and visitors travelling to and from work, schools, universities, public and cultural institutions, for tourist purposes. The project’s material scope is in line with the permissible scope of support under Priority Axis III Transport, Action III.4 Railway Transport, ROP WŁ for the years 2014-2020 and the objective of the action. As part of the project, 14 new three-member electric traction units (EZT) will be purchased for regional passenger services. The project incorporates the universal design concept in accordance with the “Guidelines for the implementation of the principle of equal opportunities and non-discrimination, including accessibility for people with disabilities and the principle of equal opportunities for men and women within the framework of EU funds for the period 2014-2020” of 8.05.2015. Vehicles will be adapted to the needs of people with disabilities: equipped with automatic platforms on both sides of the section located as close as possible to seats for persons with reduced mobility, wheelchair spaces equipped with backrests and safety belts for trolley fixing and sockets for charging battery trolleys, mobile ticket machines, toilet cabin with possibility of changing infants. The vehicles will have a one-space infinite interior with the participation of a low floor approx. 70 %, multifunctional passenger compartments with bicycles and large luggage, air conditioning and WiFi.
