The main objective of the project is to strengthen the resilience to the risks associated with climate change in low forest ecosystems. The project covers lowland forest ecosystems, all over Poland-16 voivodships. It will be attended by 113 forests from the 17 RDLP area. The project’s impact area is estimated at 119799.39 ha. The project is a continuation of activities co-financed by the OPI 2007-13. It takes into account areas not yet covered by such activities, and there will also be an extension of existing effects (implementation of further needs in new locations in the forest area of the MRN 2007-13 project). Includes the implementation of actions to prevent or minimise the negative effects of natural phenomena in the form of: droughts and fires, devastating actions of refractory waters, floods and floods through the development of low retention systems, both reservoir retention and wetland retention, as well as implementation of tasks to counter excessive erosion. The project will also contribute to the restoration of valuable natural ecosystems and will have a positive impact on the protection of biodiversity. The project uses comprehensive treatments combining environmentally friendly natural and technical methods. Mostly small buildings/buildings with simple construction are planned.
