Strengthening the capacity of the hospital crisis response network

The more than 2 years of COVID-19 pandemic has led to a complicated epidemiological situation in the country. The serious trials faced by the health system require urgent measures to address the challenges and long-term consequences of the coronavirus outbreak. The developed pandemic has led to the rethinking of the existing procedures for bringing the hospital network in the country to be ready to respond to the occurrence of health crises. In this context, this project proposal, which aims to create isolated structures for the treatment of coronavirus and other communicable diseases, in certain healthcare facilities in the country, is also prepared to be ready to face new waves of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as in the event of other epidemic or pandemic outbreaks of communicable diseases. By carrying out the planned activities, construction and repair works will be carried out for the separation of isolated areas for treatment and monitoring of patients. Medical and non-medical equipment, including breathing apparatus, intensive care beds and mobile X-ray machines, will be provided for the newly created sectors. The project will be implemented on the territory of the whole country and covers 132 sites — state and municipal medical facilities, possessing the necessary human and material and technical capacity. The resource aimed at increasing the capacity of health institutions on the one hand will improve their functioning in the context of an ongoing pandemic and, on the other hand, make a timely and effective response to the occurrence of such crises in the future. The implementation of the activities envisaged in the project for the separation of isolated structures for the treatment of patients in epidemic situations, provided with the necessary medical equipment, the health system in the country will achieve high levels of opportunity to protect the population against such threats to public health.
