This operation covers the cost of carrying out the polymerase chain reaction test (PCR) for the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection promoted by the Catalan Health Service. In this case, the PCRs implemented by centers that were not initially integrated into the integrated health system of public use of Catalonia (SISCAT), but have been assigned functionally and temporarily to have direct access to part of their productive capacity are included. Specifically, there have been 4 private hospitals, 2 private laboratories and 3 public laboratories. SISCAT consists of hospitals, primary care teams, social and health care centres, mental health centres with hospitalisation, urgent health transport resources and other health services._x000D_ The basis for calculating eligible costs is governed by the simplified cost methodology in which a fee of EUR 75 is applied for each PCR test: it integrates sample extraction, laboratory technique and transportation. This methodology makes it possible to facilitate compensation between the centres and the final providers of one or more of the services covered by the tariff. This operation specifically includes the realisation of 660,000 PCRs in 9 private hospitals and public and private laboratories that have been functionally and temporarily attached to SISCAT, during 2021 and 2022.
