The aim of the project is to extend the Thessaloniki Metro to Kalamaria, with a length of 4.8 km, with 5 new metro stations, as well as the supply of the necessary trains for the operation of the expansion.With the operation of the expansion, the Metro will upgrade transport and environmentally populated neighborhoods of the city, contributing to the further reduction of the number of vehicles, by about 20,000 IX, as it is projected to serve more than 50,000 passengers on a daily basis.
