In view of the outbreak of the coronavirus outbreak announced in Poland on 20 March 2020, the Management Board of the Łódź Voivodship decided to create a new type of project called construction, reconstruction of health care infrastructure, including its adaptation to the needs of elderly people and persons with disabilities, adaptation of premises, purchase of medical devices and equipment directly related to the prevention, prevention and fight against COVID-19 under Measure VII.2 Healthcare infrastructure. This allowed the support of a new target group of beneficiaries. The project fulfils the objectives of the above-mentioned Action by purchasing personal protective equipment and necessary medical equipment to prevent, prevent and combat COVID-19, other communicable diseases and the resulting crisis situations in medicinal entities. The applicant in the project is the Łódź Voivodeship, operating by the Department of Health Policy of the University of Warsaw, which, together with the provincial governor and regional consultants for the Łódź Voivodeship in the field of infectious diseases, emergency medicine and anaesthesiology and intensive care, monitor on an ongoing basis the state of protection of medicinal entities in personal protective equipment and medical equipment. According to their findings, in the epidemiological situation of individual medical entities in the Łódź Voivodeship, funding under the project will be allocated to the purchase of the necessary medical equipment, means of transport and personal protective equipment to ensure real and effective action to create optimal conditions for medical personnel and to provide means to save the health and lives of patients in the situation of the COVID-19 outbreak in the Łódź Voivodeship. Implementation of the project will take place as part of 4 tasks. The aim of the project is to ensure the health safety of residents of the Łódź Voivodeship, especially those infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
