The main objective of the project is to strengthen resilience to the risks associated with climate change in mountain forest ecosystems. The project covers forest mountain and sub-mountain ecosystems in 5 voivodships: Dolnośląskie, Opole, Silesian, Małopolskie and Podkarpackie. It will be attended by 47 forests from the area 4 RDLP The area of impact of the Project is estimated to be approx. 64546.27 ha (1/5 area of forests, where tasks are carried out) The project is a continuation of co-financing activities from the OPI 2007-13. It takes into account areas not yet covered by such activities, and there will be an extension of the existing effects (implementation of further needs in new locations in the forest area of the MRG 2007-13). It includes the implementation of activities related to the development of low retention systems and the prevention of over-intensive Flows causing excessive water erosion in mountainous areas by the implementation of: low retention and dry tanks; small piling devices (stamps, small thresholds, restraining) on channels, ditches and significantly transformed streams; reconstruction and demolition of non-adapted hydrotechnical facilities (e.g. bridges, culverts, beards); construction of anti-energy roads, ski trails and protection of forest infrastructure facilities against the effects of excessive water erosion with sudden precipitation (e.g. water drains, wooden hurdles, groats, stone beds). The project uses comprehensive treatments combining environmentally friendly natural and technical methods.
