The axis of the proposed project is the task of carrying out construction and assembly works aimed at the energy modernisation of the building complex of Primary School No. 8 in Nowa Sól (or actually one facility, consisting of several segments connected by a connector). As part of the project, therefore, the planned construction works resulting from the attached energy audit, i.e.: - insulation of external roofs and external walls, - replacement of window and door joinery, - installation of a new mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery (recovery), - installation of the air conditioning system for parts of rooms, - modernization of the domestic hot water preparation system (installation of new heat pumps, domestic hot water storage tank, replacement of installations), - modernization of the central heating system (replacement of heaters and heating system, installation of remotely controlled thermostats and electricity and heat meters with the possibility of remote reading and archiving data). In addition, the following non-energy audit elements will be implemented. In this respect, the project includes: - installation of a photovoltaic installation with a power of 42 kWp, - modernization of lighting (including evacuation lighting) to energy-saving, - installation of an automatic light on and off system. The other tasks planned in the project are complementary and include the implementation of preparatory works (energy audit, technical documentation, nature inventory, preparation of this grant application), investor supervision and project promotion. There is also a task on indirect costs. By the time the project application was submitted, the above-mentioned preparatory works had been completed. Permission has been obtained to carry out activities prohibited against protected species. The works were notified (no objection was raised by the relevant authority). In this way, all decisions and permits necessary for the implementation of the project were obtained. The basic need for the project is low energy efficiency of the facility. The potential for improvement in this area is indicated by the energy audit. The planned improvement of the energy efficiency of the project facility, which is the main objective of the project, is expressed in energy savings (both at the level of primary energy and final energy) that can be achieved through the implementation of the investment. The relevant indicators are presented in Section C of this proposal. Improving the energy efficiency of the facility covered by the project, which will be achieved through the implementation of the investment, will also result in the following effects, important for individual target groups of the project: 1) Reduction of harmful emissions to the atmosphere. In particular, carbon dioxide is one of the main greenhouse gases (estimated change in CO2 emissions as a result of the project is presented in section C of this proposal). However, reducing energy demand will reduce other air pollutants – the most important are sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, dust, soot, carbon monoxide, benzopyrene. 2) Reducing the operating costs of the building and, more specifically, the energy costs necessary for its operation. The potential in this respect is presented in the attached energy audit (point 2.8.1.7 of the audit charter). It should be noted that all energy improvements resulting from the audit are selected from various options of improvements based on the financial indicator, which is SPBT (simple pay back time). 3) Improvement of thermal comfort is crucial from the point of view of the users of the facility, although it is difficult to measure the effect of the investment. The improvement of insulation of individual partitions results not only in the improvement of thermal comfort in winter, but also in the summer.
