IN A NUTSHELL In the National Park of Gargano, Syntropic oasis to RE-connect aims to create a resilient and biodiverse ecosystem within an ecovillage. The plan is to develop an innovative water management system, including a bio lake and swales, to retain and redistribute water in a context of reduced rainfall and karstic soil. The project will address climate challenges collaboratively with the local community, supporting reforestation and demonstrating sustainable farming practices, such as alternatives to chemical fertilizers. OBJECTIVES Design a water management system. Mimic natural ecosystems and increase natural capital. Apply regenerative agriculture. Serve as a sustainable model for surrounding communities. ACTIONS Build a clay bio lake and swales. Plant and prune selective pioneer plants. Avoid synthetic chemicals and cover the soil. Conduct workshops and courses.
