This operation covers the cost of carrying out the polymerase chain reaction test (PCR) for the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus infection promoted by the Catalan Health Service. In this case, the PCRs implemented by the centers that are part of the Comprehensive Health System of Public Use of Catalonia (SISCAT) and the Health Grouping in the Budgets of the Generalitat de Catalunya 2020, that is, the entities of the System that are mainly owned by the Department of Health or CatSalut (public law entities subject to the private legal system, consortia and foundations) are included. SISCAT consists of hospitals, primary care teams, social and health care centres, mental health centres with hospitalisation, urgent health transport resources and other health services._x000D_ The basis for calculating eligible costs is governed by the simplified cost methodology in which a fee of EUR 75 is applied for each PCR test: it integrates sample extraction, laboratory technique and transportation. This methodology makes it possible to facilitate compensation between the centres and the final providers of one or more of the services covered by the tariff. This operation specifically includes the realisation of 660,000 PCRs in 23 health or hospital centres integrated in SISCAT, during the months of July to December 2021 and 2022.
