Increasing the capacity of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations for the management of the emergency situation caused by the COVID-19 health crisis within the Bucharest-Ilfov region. Capacity for intervention at present: According to point 20 of Annex 1 to Government Decision No 557/2016 on risk management, the Ministry of Health is the main authority in managing the type of epidemic risk and the Ministry of Internal Affairs is a secondary authority which also ensures operational coordination. Also, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure and Communications provide, as appropriate, the support functions. Thus, based on the analysis carried out by the representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of National Defence, our country is deficient in providing the necessary equipment for the transport of suspected or confirmed patients with the new Coronavirus, respectively: protective equipment consisting of suits, visors, disposable gloves and FFP2 masks) intensive care equipment (e.g.: fans, injectomates, medical monitors), insulation chambers and transport isolates on the stretcher.
