The project aims at developing a single model for capacity building for population actions in the event of floods and subsequent crises. The overall objective of the project is to increase the capacity at national level for actions in floods and subsequent crises by creating and developing the necessary infrastructure and methodological framework for preparing the population on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria for protection and response to floods and subsequent crises.The objectives of the project are: pupils; persons over 60 years of age; the working-age population; volunteers; municipal administrations; media.The activities envisaged under this project are fully aimed at achieving the following specific objectives: Repair and equipment of 6 regional training centres; Capacity building of teaching staff in the 6 centres; Training of pupils; Adult education; Training of the other target groups of the project; Final simulation exercises by centres with representatives of all groups of trained participants; Study population preparedness for floods and follow-up crises and establish a follow-up strategy; Development and publishing of information and communication materials.The expected results of the project implementation are as follows: Established 6 regional training centres; Researched experience and good practices of 2 EU Member States; Capacity building of trainers; Increased capacity at regional and national level to act effectively and efficiently in the event of floods and subsequent crises; Developed a comprehensive model to increase capacity at national level for flooding and post-crisis action, by exploring the preparedness of the population and establishing a follow-up strategy.
