The objective of the project ‘Short-term employment support in response to the COVID-19 pandemic’ is to provide support to enterprises and self-employed persons whose economic activity is directly affected by the adverse impact of the state of emergency in the country declared by a decision of the National Assembly of 13 March 2020 caused by the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. The project aims to address and mitigate the negative socio-economic consequences of the pandemic. It will provide an opportunity to apply short-term employment support, through which employers and self-employed persons directly affected by the state of emergency will receive funds to preserve the employment of those threatened by dismissal as a result of adverse business development and reduction of sales revenues. The project target group is employed in enterprises, including self-employed. In order to achieve the objective of the project, the implementation of an activity is foreseen: Support for employers and self-insurers through compensation of part of the salary and insurance at the expense of the employer in order to preserve the employment of employees in enterprises operating in economic sectors specified in an act of the Council of Ministers and who have declared and proven a reduction in sales revenue, as required by the legislation. The compensation is BGN 290 per month for each employee receiving remuneration under an employment contract or self-employed person. Together with the above-mentioned direct activity, information and communication activities, as well as for the organisation and management of the project, will be carried out under the project.
