Lithuania’s energy consumption is significantly higher than the average in the EU. The largest reserves for final energy savings are in the housing and public sectors. Monitoring of renovated multi-apartment and public buildings shows that the implementation of energy-saving measures results in average savings in buildings of over 40 % of energy consumed before building renovation measures are implemented. Improving public awareness and awareness is an important factor in the success of the renovation/modernisation of multi-apartment buildings and the energy efficiency of public buildings. In order to increase the number of those intending to participate in the implementation of the programmes and to contribute to Objective 4.3.1 of the 2014-2020 Operational Programme for investments from EU funds, the project “Promoting the modernisation of multi-apartment houses and municipal public buildings, Phase II”, will include integrated information, education and training measures to promote public awareness.
