The project “Trans-European Network Connection — Stage III of the Western Bypass of Vilnius City” provides for the completion of the western bypass of Vilnius city by building a 5.38 km 4/6 traffic lane road from Sidaroniai g./Viršuliškių skg. to Ukmergės str., installing 6 cars, one pedestrian bridge, noise suppressing wall, rainwater networks, street lighting and preventing the construction of the road from 110 kV electricity transmission lines to cables. Once the project is implemented, traffic flows from the districts of Pašilaičiai, Justiniškiai, Buivydiškiai and Ginėtiškiai will be redirected to Vilnius bypass, the TEN-T roads will be connected by a new connection. Major improvements in traffic conditions, reduced congestion, reduced travel time, reduced operating costs of road vehicles, improved traffic safety and reduced air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
