Traction and grip power for home care

The aim of the project is to strengthen the operating conditions and adaptability of home care students and professionals working in home care, as well as to increase the attractiveness and attractiveness of home care work in social and health services. The project is implemented as a network cooperation between Satakunta University of Applied Sciences, Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Sataedu, Sataedu and SASKY. The project’s partner is the home care of the city of Pori and the city of Sastamala. The aim of the Government Programme of Prime Minister Antti Rinte is that the Nordic welfare state and its basic pillars, income security, well-functioning social and health services, education and skills provide a strong and fair platform for reform work. The achievement of this objective is particularly challenging in the area of social and health services, as the service system does not employ a sufficient number of skilled workers. Hiring new employees is not an easy task, and at the moment, for example, home care is a constant need for qualified workers. This project will build a way for students to make home care more attractive and to support the student’s transition to home care. The focus is on students at the end of their studies, who, together with home care workers, develop ways of doing work and working organisation practices that take into account the special features of home care work. The development will be supported by materials for the use of students and employees in the digital learning environment. Workshop work will be used in the development. The themes of the workshops will be a digital workbook that will be used throughout the project. To strengthen the attractiveness and attractiveness of home care, the project will produce a mentoring model and guide for students, home care professionals and managers who graduate in the field. This will also be achieved by developing a career construction and management model to be piloted during the project. After the project, the model will be distributed to graduate students and professionals.
