The Saraste project develops and permanentises the service management model shaped in the Reit by the Labour Force Service Centre. The target group of service guidance is young adults who are linked by substance abuse background and motive to normalise their daily lives so that working life is possible. A connecting factor for the project’s customers is that they do not have experience in an independent and socially engaged adult life. The project implements strong service guidance, in which customers are directed to the services of the service network, ensuring that the service in question is not isolated but is combined with other services contributing to the customer’s rehabilitation goal. The nature of service guidance includes comprehensiveness and reactivity. Special attention will be paid to the customer’s individual service needs. On the other hand, the aim is to ensure that the service network does not end up in service situations where no significant benefits can be achieved. The main result of the project will be the development of a service management model in addition to concrete customer work and related positive effects. The model will be developed on the basis that it would be possible to maintain it as a permanent activity in the future as part of the City of Mikkeli’s welfare strategy.
