Development of an active intermediate labour market Salvos

The Salvos project will diversify the choice of jobs for those in the intermediate labour market. The permanent structures of employment have been strengthened in Mikkeli, but it is possible to take new jobs and design them to fit into the employment activity through project resourcing. The criteria for selecting workplaces are the content of the work processes and their suitability for the accumulation of work skills. Another important criterion is the utility of the added value of work. Due to these criteria, the jobs will be related to landscaping and traditional construction. The target group of the project will be those who are long-term unemployed, for whom working at hand and working in the team will provide evidence of entry into the open labour market. The employment and employment opportunities organised through the project will be used to refine customers’ employment plans. This has an impact on the efficiency of customer processes and the effectiveness of the conclusions drawn. The result of the project will be new openings for local employment management implementation in Mikkeli. The project’s expertise is also shared at regional level, especially in landscaping and traditional construction sites. It is expected that municipalities will strengthen their own employment management structure in the coming years. The Salvos project will contribute to this development.
