The CUD carries a project of a high-level bus network aimed at offering public transport “more often and closer” to the inhabitants, places of activity, purchase and leisure. The ambition is to double the use of public transport by 2020, by increasing the share of urban public transport by more than 10 %, by better irrigating the territory, particularly the less favoured areas. The bus offer has been redesigned by optimising the service but also improving the regularity and reliability of schedules. In order to make the transport network attractive, it was therefore sought to reduce downtime at crossroads, reduce stop times at stations and optimise rotation times between races. In addition to conventional lines, the network will rely on a network of 5 main high-service bus lines, known as CHRONO, with a frequency of 10 minutes. This new bus network should be completely free as soon as it comes into service.
