Development of a virtual laboratory at national level, which collects analysis data from 99 laboratories for monitoring substances and indicators in waste water and surface water and quality indicators in drinking water in order to report them fully and adequately to EU structures, in order to increase the collection and treatment of waste water and drinking water supply of the country’s population. The project implements realistically and unequivocally the Specific Objective 3.2. “Increasing the level of collection and treatment of urban waste water, as well as the degree of ensuring the supply of drinking water to the population”, justifies the sustainability of investments in water and waste water infrastructure for urban and municipal waste water and contributes to improving the quality of the water resources in which the waste water arrives, improving the quality of drinking water provided to the population, by increasing the institutional capacity to monitor all categories of chemicals in water resources and producing the appropriate data required for the reporting required by Framework Directive 2000/60/EC transposed into the Water Law no. 107/1996, as amended by the International Water Directive no. 107/1996, as amended, Directive 98/83/EEC transposed by Law No 458/G/2002 and the subsequent national transpositions, as amended by the National Legislative Directive no. 8/27/2002 and the subsequent national transpositions, as amended and supplemented by national transpositions no. The project provides equipment that ensures the laboratory analyses included in the national monitoring program of the three categories of water, in all 99 laboratories of waste water quality, surface and drinking that form the network of the virtual national laboratory in which the purchased equipment is installed and operationalised and where all data from the national monitoring programme necessary for the committed reporting will be produced annually. The project output indicator is: 2S129 — Enhanced water quality monitoring capacity: Development of the National Laboratory — 1 pcs.
