The aim of the project is to counter-flood the Selška Sora basin, with the aim of reducing flood risk in the area of the significant impact of floods in the Sora basin in Železniki. According to the Operational Programme, the planned operation consists of partially addressing the flood safety of the Selška Sora basin, as indicated by the title of the operation in the OP: “Anti-flooding regulation of the Selška Sora basin (to Dolenja vas) — reducing flood risk to OPVP Železniki”. The address given is longer, and the shortened title of the project (as ever stated) is “anti-floating regulation of the Selška Sora basin”. The implementation of the project foresees a reduction of flood risk for a total of 343 inhabitants, 102 residential houses and 1 IPPC listed building.
