The national project Green Households aims to support the installation of small renewable energy (RES) equipment in households that are used for housing purposes. A small installation for electricity generation isinstallation with a power of up to 10 kW. In the production of heat, a small device is a device that covers the energy consumption of the building. The project will be implemented throughout Slovakia. The main communication tool in relation to the public will be the websiteww.zelenadomacnostiam.sk. The subject of support for the installation of small RES installations is to provide a financial contribution for the installation of RES electricity or heat generating installations by which they are: panels (electricity generation);wind turbines (electricity generation); solar collectors (heat generation); biomass boilers (heat generation);thermal pumps (heat generation). Support for the installation of equipment will be carried out in the form of vouchers which will be issued directly to households. The issue of vouchers will take place within individual time or otherwise limited rounds. The household applies for a voucher using the application form available at www.zelenadomacnostiam.sk. The voucher provided may be used by the household at the time of payment for the supply and installation of the device. The SIEA will reimburse vouchers after checking compliance. The conditions and details for the provision of support are set out in a separate document ‘General conditions for promoting the use of renewable energy sources in households’ and in the specific conditions laid down for each voucher-issuing round. The aim of the project is to increase the share of RES use in households and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Meeting this objective will result in a revitalised market environment for RES equipment in the household segment and raising awareness of the use of RES. A secondary contribution is also to increase the awareness and practice of installers of RES facilities, as well as the anticipated increase in youth interest in energy and these disciplines.
