Promoting the employment of citizens with disabilities

The national project is aimed at promoting employment, adaptability and reducing unemployment of citizens with disabilities (hereinafter referred to as “citizens with disabilities”) through the provision of contributions. Contributions are granted pursuant to Act No 5/2004 on employment services and amending certain acts, as amended (hereinafter referred to as the Employment Services Act). Citizens with HEIs represent a specific group of disadvantaged citizens, who are often dependent on help and support. Disability disadvantage restricts such a citizen’s access to various employment opportunities, which has an impact on their harder access to the labour market. This is one of the reasons why there is support for citizens with HICs and employers in the form of contributions that make it possible to create the conditions for the implementation of this target group. Contributions to citizens with HICs will be provided as part of the national project to citizens with HICs who meet the legislative conditions of the definition of a citizen with HICs under the Employment Services Act. Support for citizens with HICs will be implemented in the framework of the national project through active labour market policy tools aimed at: the setting up of sheltered workshops and sheltered workplaces by employers;the retention of a citizen with a civil servant in employment; the commencement of operation and continuous self-employment for at least two years by citizens with HEIs in a sheltered workplace; promoting the employment of citizens with HICs by using the assistance of a job assistant; supporting the retention of citizens with HEIs in sheltered workshops and in sheltered workplaces by means of a contribution to cover the running costs of the sheltered workshop or sheltered workplace and the cost of transport to employment;           The contributions will be provided by the authorities in accordance with the applicable wording of the Employment Services Act. The project will be implemented by the Headquarters and 43 offices within Western, Central and Eastern Slovakia.
