1. The aim of the project is to complete the basic motorway D1, improve conditions for international and national traffic and increase fluidity, capacity, speed and road safety. After the completion of the construction of the section D1 in the length of 7.87 km, conditions will be created for a substantial reduction of traffic on road I/68 and road I/18 (deviation of transit freight and passenger traffic from the city of Prešov).2. The activities of the project focus on the construction of motorways and expressways, including feeders (TEN-T CORE), with the aim of removing key bottlenecks on the TEN-T road infrastructure through the construction of new sections of motorways and expressways.3. The place of implementation of the project is in Prešov region, district Prešov. The D1 motorway is part of the TEN-T Core network with an important national as well as international transport function.4.
