Project phase “Integrated waste management system in Bihor County”

The proposed project aims to solve the significant environmental and operational problems related to waste generation and management and to develop also the integrated waste management system in the county that will improve the living conditions of its citizens and to support Romania in achieving the waste management objectives imposed by the accession treaty. The system as such will be fully in line with national environmental principles and EU legislation and will address all elements of waste management, namely waste prevention and waste collection. The proposed system is adapted to the needs of the county and has been identified as the most cost-effective and affordable for citizens in the county, the main objective being in line with the specific objective of OS 3.1. by reducing the number of non-compliant landfills and increasing the readiness for recycling of waste among the inhabitants of Bihor County.
