The project concerns the construction of the western extension of Line 3 of the Athens Metro to Piraeus, from “Agia Marina” Station to the Municipal Theatre. The length of the line will be 7.6 km to 6 new Metro stations: Agia Varvara, Korydallos, Nicaea, Maniatika, Piraeus, Municipal Theatre. It also includes the supply of trains (row III) for the needs of Lines 2 and 3 of the Athens Metro.The expected benefits of the project include:- Reduction of road accidents and their impacts as a result of the operation of the Metro system.- Reducing the costs of moving today by IX or Taxi.- Reduction of operating costs of the buses of OASA, due to decongestion of the city as a result of the operation of the Metro system.
