The object of the project is the reconstruction of the common areas (roads and squares) of the eastern axis connecting the Museum with the Archaeological site of the Sanctuary of Alias Athena and part of the western axis, from the Museum to the square behind the Museum. The interventions concerned the creation of: Flows, with the formation of pedestrian walks on both sides of the Museum and especially the eastern axis, leading to the Sanctuary of Alea Athena, and – Stops, with configurations in the existing square behind the Museum, on the plateau in front of the Museum, in front of the Church of St. Nicholas and on the plateau of the existing well. Through these interventions, the two key and imposing elements of the Museum’s space and the unique monument of the Sanctuary of Alias Athena, which summarises in its structure all the architectural knowledge of Greek culture, is achieved. The project consists of 4 sub-projects: Subproject 1: Improvement of functionality and promotion of the wider area, surrounding the Archaeological Site of Aleas Athenas and the Museum, with the creation of an Archaeological Walk. Subproject 2: Undergroundisation of the air distribution network of the area concerned. Subproject 3: Supply of equipment of the above space. Subproject 4: Archaeological research and work.
