The project meets the general objective of investment priority 6.1. to increase the accessibility of rural and urban areas located close to the TEN-T network through the modernisation of county roads. The general objective of the project is to increase the accessibility of a total community of 327,013 people from Dolj County to the TEN-T network, a community located both in the rural area of 7 communes crossed by the county road DJ 552, and in Craiova. In this way, the modernisation of the county road DJ 552 Craiova – Cetate stimulates mobility in the South-West Oltenia Region by increasing the accessibility of rural areas in the communes Bucovăț, Terpezita, Sălcuța, Vârtop, Caraula, Unirea, Cetate in Dolj County, totalling 21,324 inhabitants, as well as of Craiova, with 305.689 inhabitants, on the TEN-T road network, as well as to road and rail/naval-port/airport TEN T. In detail, the connection to the TEN-T road is ensured by connection with: • DN (comprehensive), • DN 56/E 79 and DN 56 A (CORE), On the road and shipping TEN-T network/port: • DN 56 A – DN 56/E 79 – Port Calafat/Calafat Bridge, Danube River. On the TEN-T road and rail network: • Craiova Railway Station • DN 56 A – DN 56/E 79 Calafat Railway Station/Pod Calafat. At the TEN-T road and airport network: • DN 65/E 574 – Craiova International Airport Connectivity to the TEN-T network is carried out both on the territory of Craiova and the municipality of Cetate and indirectly on the territory of Calafat municipality. • Description of connectivity on the territory of Craiova municipality.
