The general objective of the project “Reduction of carbon emissions in Alexandria, through the adoption of green public transport” is to reduce carbon emissions in Alexandria, through investments based on sustainable urban mobility plans. The aim of the project is to create cyclist tracks, bicycle rental stations, bus stations, building a busbase and parking park&ride, creating a traffic management system, including a video monitoring system, as well as modernising the pedestrian area on Libertatii Street. This investment will contribute to: Reducing carbon emissions in the municipality of Alexandria; Carrying out campaigns to raise awareness of the harmful effect generated by fuel consumption; Carrying out campaigns to raise awareness of the benefits of cycling; Adoption of a healthy lifestyle for the population of the municipality; Depollution; Development of a traffic management system and video surveillance. Thus, the project contributes to the achievement of the specific objective of Axis 4, Investment Priority 4.1, namely: Reducing carbon emissions in municipalities of county residence through investments based on sustainable urban mobility plans.
