The objective of this project is to reduce emissions of air pollutants from the combustion of solid fuels in individual heating installations in selected municipalities of OSI Baryczy Valley. This is a grant project and will consist of grants awarded by the grantor for projects implemented in single-family and multi-family residential buildings for the replacement of existing carbon-intensive heat sources for connection to the district heating network, installations using renewable heat sources and boilers burning biomass or possibly gaseous fuels. The project will be implemented in 2019-2021 in the following municipalities of Lower Silesia: Zmigród, Cieszków, Milicz, Prusice, Twardogóra, Ołołów, Zawonia. It plans to modernise a total of at least 324 heat sources, which should translate into an annual decrease in PM 10 emissions of 7.82 tonnes and an annual decrease in PM 2.5 emissions of 6.08 tonnes. In addition, it will tackle climate change with a planned reduction in CO2 emissions of 1 551 tonnes of CO2-equivalent. The project will be implemented in partnership of 7 entities. Its leader is the Commune of Żmigród, partners of the other municipalities. At the same time, the leader acts as a grant provider, who is responsible for the implementation, management and monitoring of the grant project during the sustainability period. In the above activities it will be supported by the Partners. The grants will be natural persons who own single-family houses or apartments in single-family and multi-family houses, as well as housing communities (in the area of dwellings owned by natural persons), who will also act as operators of the infrastructure created by the project. The beneficiaries of the project’s effects will be the control sum: CB23-644E-18F9-A1F6 18/98 all the inhabitants of these and neighbouring municipalities, who, thanks to its implementation, will be able to breathe better quality air.
