The main objective of the planned project (project) is to improve the life and health of residents and the environment of the Lubelskie voivodship by continuing the use of the system of asbestos waste management. The target group of the project are residents of the Lubelskie Voivodeship (natural persons), on the premises where products and waste containing asbestos are located.The project provides the possibility for the target group to remove asbestos products without incurring the costs associated with their dismantling, transport and disposal. The project plans to remove 74 000 tonnes of asbestos products. In addition, an information and educational campaign will be carried out for residents of the Lubelskie Voivodeship on safe use of products containing asbestos dismantling and disposal. It is expected that the project will have an impact on raising the knowledge and awareness of the inhabitants of Lubelskie voivodship about the harmfulness of asbestos and the obligation to remove them, which will contribute to faster removal of asbestos from the area of Lubelskie voivodship. Reducing the amount of asbestos in the Lubelskie voivodship will contribute to increasing the amount of ecologically clean areas, the development of a well-equipped and extensive ecotourism base, and thus to the growth of economic processes. Activities related to asbestos disposal will consist of accepting Localisation Applications from residents of Lubelskie Voivodship, which will indicate the sites and the amount of waste containing asbestos. The tasks of the qualified contractor will include the mechanical disposal of roof coverings containing asbestos and asbestos waste already on the ground (posessions, plots), preparation for transport (including packaging), loading, transport and depositing of such waste in a suitably adapted hazardous waste site with appropriate decisions to dispose of such waste.
